Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known as the character the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. She is also known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a family that included four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of becoming a court reporter. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial roles when she moved from the south of England to New York. The role she was given was that of an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actor who has appeared in many films, television shows, and dramas. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, and has had two failed marriages. Her custody in 2005 was confiscated from her.
